So you're looking at purchasing your first outdoor sauna. The great thing about outdoor saunas is that they bring a higher level of luxury. In addition to being larger, they can also come as a pre-fab saunas, or in the case our outdoor saunas, will be assembled for you. The most common types of outdoor saunas are either barrel saunas or cabin saunas, both of which fall under the category of pre-fab saunas.

Outdoor Sauna Wood

An outdoor sauna will typically be made from a few different types of wood. For starters, they all include a wood stove and solid wood rails. Solid wood rails will typically be made from 1-5/8″ nordic spruce wood or 1-3/8″ thick Canadian Hemlock wood, otherwise known as 1-3/8″ thick wood.

1-5/8″ nordic spruce wood is picked for it's aesthetic pleasure and makes a great material for solid wood rails. Overall, you'll find most outdoor sauna manufacturers will choose to use 1-5/8″ nordic spruce wood for their solid wood rails.

Pre Built Sauna Heating

Most outdoor saunas will come with a heating foot pad and portable chair as well as infrared heating panels for rapid heating. The heating foot pad and portable chair are really just accessories and not mandatory, but will improve your outdoor sauna experience. Rapid heating from the infrared heating panels will also prove quite useful. At Supreme Saunas, we do not sell a combo of a Heating Foot Pad and Portable Chair and thus those must be purchased separately from a Heating Foot Pad and Portable Chair vendor.

Pre Built Sauna Glass

Tinted glass and double pane glass are common requests for an outdoor sauna. All outdoor saunas use tinted glass to give you the privacy that you need. Without tinted glass, an outdoor sauna would be a little unnerving. In addition to tinted glass, the double pane glass will add the extra layer of privacy.

Outdoor Sauna Roof

Most people like for a few design features when it comes to roofs. The most requested design features include adjustable roof vents and a Finlandia Skylight roof. Additional requested features include a cedar shake roof. The adjustable roof vents help let in fresh air when needed

Outdoor saunas come with all sorts of walls, from exterior side walls, to frame walls, to pre-assembled wall sections, to 1-1/2" thick walls. As long as they're aesthetically pleasing to you, then it won't matter too much because pre-fab saunas tend to be assembled for you.

An outdoor sauna can easily come at an affordable price. Normal prices can be anywhere from $5,000 - $7,000 but through Supreme Saunas, those numbers are brought down to $3,000 - $5,500. Pricing depends on which feature you're looking for and the size of the outdoor sauna.

Home Sauna Construction

Instead of building the outdoor Sauna yourself, it will be a pre-fab sauna delivered to you will just require the outdoor space to fit it. Unfortunately, Supreme Saunas does not work with 4-person Construction sauna projects, or 6-person Construction projects.
